DBT for Adults (Previous)

This group was run in Spring/Summer of 2023 and is unfortunately not in the current group rotation. If you are in need of DBT services, we recommend Remedy Counseling & Assessment.

Many people come to therapy wanting a “handbook” for how to change their lives. This DBT-informed group is facilitated in an affirming space where participants will learn skills designed to help you enact long-term change in your life. For this reason, it is recommended that group members participate in individual therapy alongside group therapy.

In each session, group members will learn a new skill and process ways you can apply that skill to present life challenges. This group is ideal for individuals who have difficulty regulating emotions and navigating interpersonal relationships, and who would like to change resulting behaviors (e.g., self-harm, substance use).

Over the course of 12 weeks, this group will cover an introduction to DBT skills training, as well as skills from the distress tolerance and emotion regulation modules. These skills are aimed at helping participants learn to navigate crisis, cope with intense emotions, and problem-solve situations that prompt high arousal.
