Krystyn Schmidt, MA LIMHP LADC
Licensed Independent Medical Health Practitioner, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor
Krystyn Schmidt, MA LIMHP LADC (she/her/hers) brings a wealth of professional experience to her clinical work at Kindred Psychology, as she is dually licensed as an independent mental health practitioner and an alcohol and drug counselor. In the past, Krystyn served as the Director of Psychological Health for the Nebraska Army National Guard and Intake Coordinator on the Counseling and Psychological Services team at UNL.
Krystyn has developed extensive expertise helping people with anxiety, depression, trauma, transitions, self-esteem and self-identity, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma concerns. As an alcohol and drug counselor, Krystyn also brings substantial experience working with individuals and families navigating the difficult path of addiction recovery. Krystyn possesses keen insights into the unique culture, presenting concerns, and strengths of military service members and their families. She is also passionate about working with people experiencing unique fertility situations and infertility challenges, antenatal and postpartum depression/anxiety and other reproductive/mental health difficulties.
Krystyn exudes warmth and nonjudgmental acceptance, and yet she is refreshingly direct and matter-of-fact. She is a careful thinker who isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo, but she does so in a way that preserves relationships and safety. Krystyn maintains her personal balance through running, photography, experiences in the natural world, spending time with her dogs, and attending 90’s concerts whenever she can.
My priority is to help you find peace and transformation in whatever capacity that means for you. Whether you are looking to manage anxiety or depression, address trauma or self-esteem issues, we will work together to find an outcome that works for you.
