Psychotherapy Group for Trans/Gender Diverse Adults
Trans Affirming Therapy Group

At a time when local and national efforts are being made to further marginalize queer and transgender people, it can be particularly challenging to actualize and affirm one’s identity in a safe, supportive environment.
We created a psychotherapy group specifically to support trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse individuals (18+) seeking to process experiences in relation to:
- Accessing care and social supports
- Navigating relationships and changing relational dynamics
- Disclosure
- Building and maintaining connection with others
- Trauma, and the ways it intersects with gender and other personal identities
Through liberation psychology and trauma-conscious lenses, this group seeks to support trans, nonbinary, and gender diverse individuals’ well-being, challenge stigma, and advance collective social safety.
This psychotherapy group is a good companion to our Gender Diverse Adults group, especially for those looking to dive deeper – emotionally, therapeutically, and socially.
This psychotherapy group is open to individuals 18+ who self-identify as transgender, nonbinary, gender nonconforming, and/or gender diverse. Due to space constraints and best practices in group therapy, this group will be limited to 12 participants. If you register after the group is full, you may request to be added to a list for this group’s next rotation.
This group will not be a good fit for anyone feeling acutely suicidal or struggling with suicidality. If you are looking for immediate services, please visit our Get Help Now page for crisis response resources.
We recommend that participants meet with an individual therapist while the group is in session.
Meetings take place once a month at our office. For safety reasons, our Spring 2026 meeting schedule will be released only to those whose registration has been confirmed by the group director.
This psychotherapy group is facilitated by Camie Nitzel, PhD LP.
For those utilizing insurance, sessions will be billed to your plan and you will be invoiced via our client portal. If you do not have insurance or elect not to use it, the group cost is $25 per session.
We want your mental health to be a priority. If neither of the above fee arrangements are feasible for you, please reach out to our program director to discuss potential sliding scale options.
