Courtney LeikamOffice Coordinator

Courtney (she/her/hers) plays a vital role at Kindred Psychology, serving as an extension of the therapeutic experience for clients. Among other things, she is responsible for matching clients with the right clinicians, which ensures successful client experiences at Kindred Psychology. On any given day, you’ll find Courtney simultaneously scheduling appointments over telephone and email, welcoming clients as they arrive for sessions, processing co-pays and payments, corresponding with insurance companies, and generally keeping everything in order where non-clinical client details are concerned. Courtney’s prior experience working with Nebraska Internal Medicine and the Bureau of Sociological Research at UNL have given her strong organizational and multi-tasking skills and sharp attention to detail. We owe a substantial part of our efficiency as a practice to Courtney’s dedication to supporting us all.

Courtney’s broad background includes a Master’s degree from UNL in Modern Languages and Literatures, a graduate certificate in TESOL, and specializations in Women’s and Gender Studies and German. She has taught German to college students in the United States, and English to adolescents in Germany while on Fulbright in Dresden. (Sprechen Sie Deutsch? Sprich mit Courtney!) With her strong teaching background as well as her interest and experience in Gender Studies, Courtney is also going to be responsible for further developing the educational portions of our burgeoning Gender Programs at Kindred Psychology.

When meeting her or talking with her on the phone, you’ll notice Courtney has a subtle and yet expansive spirit about her. She is both crystal clear about her opinions and also gentle in the expression of them. We appreciate that Courtney helps us all to be mindful of the ecological impact of every choice we make. (Appreciate those recycling bins in every room? Thank Courtney!) If there’s superb music playing in the waiting room, Courtney’s probably responsible, as she is our resident Spotify playlist aficionado!
